OFFICE OF THE CENTER AT THE HOUSE STEP

In Local Community building `Djuka Dinic` of Palilula Municipality, the office of Center for social work `Sveti Sava` was opened. On this occasion, president of the Municipality Boban Dzunic, Mayor of Nis PhD Zoran Perisic and manager of the Center for social work Zoran Jovic, with their associates visited this settlement. This office will be opened three days a week and after that, the officers of the Center will work on the problems and then offer the adequate solutions.

`Idea is very good, and in practice in other cities. I hope that the users will be very much satisfied with this they are getting, emphasized Perisic, Mayor of the City of Nis. I greet the initiative of the president of Palilula Municipality who in cooperation with  Center of social work made possible that services of the Center can be closer to the citizens they really need them most. It should be the modus of behavior everywhere in City Administration since it exists for the users and not vice versa. This scheme we are trying to push more to use for our workers and I expect that they realize that the basic motto of their existence should be at service to citizens. I hope that this office would reach the objective, concluded the Mayor of Nis.`

Nis Municipality of Palilula is, according to the number of citizens ,one of the the biggest municipalities in Nis, but according to the life standard and according to the report from the Institute for statistics of Serbia, at the very end of Serbian municipalities. In these circumstances, with devastated economic surrounding, limited authorizations and poor budget, the authorities of the Municipality decided to solve the key problems of citizens. Priority in the work of Municipality according to the words of Boban Dzunic, president, is taking into account socially most jeopardized categories of citizens. According to statistic data in the sphere of social needs from the total number of people that are in evidence of the Center for social work St Sava in Nis, over 67 percent of the citizens are from Palilula territory. The Office of this Center we have opened in this settlement because the biggest number of users of the Center in Nis from this territory. My idea is exactly that in this way work on the decentralization of work of our institutions and Administrations, so that they could be closer to the citizens, emphasized Dzunic. In Palilula we actively work on improving the process of work of our Administration and synchronization with relevant legal regulative. We provide the services to citizens in accordance with high standards of life in community. With the help and support of Mayor, professional logistics of the Center for social work we started this pilot project that is the first of this sort in our city.

According to Zoran Jovic manager of the Center for social work, it is a frequent case that the user in his attempt to realize some of his rights has to come thee or four times to the city. In this way, our office will be literary at their door step. We want to make this service closer to the users, to rationalize the procedure and offer the information in time to the users of monetary and social help about the realization of their certain right – said Jovic. One person of Roman nationality will be employed here. At the moment economic situation makes even harder the realization of our vision of Municipal development. But we have created clear objective in municipality and with efforts and work that it could be realized in one long term., concluded Dzunic in discussion with press. We have directives – Strategic plan of development  and we want to solve the problems systematically. For all of this it is necessary to have patience and understanding of our citizens. In the last two years the authorities of this Nis municipality of Palilula has showed the decisiveness and high level of objectivity and humanity in solving problems of this category of citizens.
